Shane is a platform created to foster safety, inclusivity, and community for LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide. These guidelines outline the behaviors we encourage to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment:

Encouraged Behaviors

• Respectful Reviews: Even when posting negative feedback, remain objective and respectful. Use your review as an opportunity to help your peers get a full picture of your experience, and understand any risks to their safety.

• Constructive Feedback: Where improvements are possible, highlight areas where entities should focus to improve their LGBTQ+ inclusivity and safety.

• Support Inclusivity: Use Shane to alert your peers about safety risks, and amplify positive experiences by sharing supportive feedback about inclusive spaces.

Prohibited Behaviors

As stated in our Acceptable Use Policy, the following is not allowed under any circumstances:

• Outing Individuals or Entities: Outing people or organizations without their consent is strictly prohibited.

• The only exceptions are public figures who are already publicly out.

• We will not allow naming of other users, staff, or private individuals in reviews, ratings, or any content.

• Data Scraping or Extraction: Scraping, harvesting, or automating the collection of data from Shane’s platform is not allowed.

• Hate Speech or Harassment: Sharing hateful, discriminatory, or harassing content is prohibited.

• Defamatory or Harmful Content: Do not post false, defamatory, or harmful reviews or information.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech, harassment, bullying, and any form of bigotry. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. Be respectful and constructive in your interactions.
